François-Auguste-René Rodin, known as Auguste Rodin, was a French sculptor. Although Rodin is generally considered the progenitor of modern sculpture, he did not set out to rebel against the past.
Born: November 12, 1840, Paris
Died: November 17, 1917, Meudon

Rodin’s The Thinker is among the most recognized works in all of sculpture.

Work lovingly done is the secret of all order and all happiness.

Nothing is a waste of time if you use the experience wisely.

To the artist there is never anything ugly in nature.

You must always work.

I choose a block of marble and chop off whatever I don’t need.

I invent nothing, I rediscover.

True artists are almost the only men who do their work for pleasure.

Nobody does good to men with impunity.
