Vladimir_Putin_12015
Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin (born 7 October 1952) is a Russian politician who has been the President of Russia since 7 May 2012.

He previously served as President from 2000 to 2008, and as Prime Minister of Russia from 1999 to 2000 and again from 2008 to 2012. Putin was previously the Chairman of the United Russia political party.

For sixteen years Putin served as an officer in the KGB, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel before he retired to enter politics in his native Saint Petersburg in 1991.

Many of Putin’s actions are regarded by the domestic opposition and foreign observers as undemocratic.

Scholars such as Michael McFaul give Putin at least partial credit for Russia’s recovery from the economic crisis of the 1990s.

If there is no possibility or, to put it in plain terms, if there is no money… What can you do? You can’t go to a store, you can’t buy anything, either a cannon, or a missile, or a medicine. For this reason the economy is at the basis of everything. In the beginning it was Karl Marx and then Freud and others…

People are always teaching us democracy but the people who teach us democracy don’t want to learn it themselves.
